England have almost certainly brought down the curtain on Jason Roy's international career by leaving him out of their squad for next month's Twenty20 World Cup.<br>Roy, as expected, is the high profile absentee from a 15-man squad named this morning as England have dropped one of the most important players in their white-ball transformation after a sustained dismal run of form.<br>Elsewhere, Chris Woakes and Mark Wood have recovered from injury to take their places in the squad but the World Cup in October and November will come too soon for  who remains out with a stress fracture of his back.<br>      (image:  )    Jason Roy's England career is at risk after he was dropped for the Twenty20 World Cup<br>      (image:  )    Dawid Malan is expected to move into Roy's place after the latter's dismal run of form<br>  RELATED ARTICLES                    Share this article Share    Dawid Malan is expected to move up to Roy's place as T20 opener while there are also batting places in the squad for Phil Salt and Harry Brook, who edges out Will Jacks in the final 15.<br> <br /> There is no place, as expected, for Lancashire leg-spinner Matt Parkinson, who has struggled to convince England over a lengthy spell within the red and white ball squads that he is quick or good enough for the highest level.<br>But there is no third spinner in the squad to back up Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid, with Hampshire's Liam Dawson among the three travelling reserves.<br>      (image:  )    Chris Woakes (right) and Mark Wood (left) have recovered in time to make the 15-man squad<br>England have also named a 19-man party for the seven-match T20 tour of Pakistan that precedes the World Cup without the rested Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow and the injured Chris Jordan and Liam Livingstone, who are both expected to be fit for the World Cup in Australia.<br>They are giving chances in Pakistan to a number of promising players like Jordan Cox, Tom Helm, Jacks and Luke Wood.  Nottinghamshire's Ben Duckett also earns a recall but there is no place for his county team-mate Alex Hales who can surely now be consigned to international history.<br>  England's World Cup squad: Buttler (captain), Moeen, Bairstow, Brook, S Curran, Jordan, Livingstone, Malan, Rashid, Salt, Stokes, Topley, Willey, Woakes, Wood.  Travelling reserves: Dawson, Gleeson, Mills,<br>  RELATED ARTICLES                    Share this article Share    adverts.addToArray({"pos":"inread_player"})Advertisement
