Ionizing radiation refers to the absorption of the gamma rays located in manmade radioactive C-137, which is deemed as a serious hazard to the human body. Gamma rays have no charge or mass and can very easily pass by means of the body, yet a fraction will always be absorbed or will penetrate into tissues.
