Its simple design replicates a minnow and can be slow bounced off the bottom or cover. Because stocked trout are extremely prevalent in many areas and so are usually the best trout fishing option in the spring trout fishing season, I have spent many a morning or early afternoon for the shores of lakes fishing of these often less colorful and much less feisty versions of trout so that they can feel the enjoyable pull of your fish on the end of my line.  Insects as well as other creatures use lily pads and weed beds to get eggs, this may bring smaller fish subsequently bringing bigger fish.
