Its simple design replicates a minnow which enable it to be slow bounced over bottom or cover.  In the US, using a more proven method, one study found that pike did not live more 24 years , however in Sweden one study have not, with certainty, had time to prove pike live over 16 years.  Novices must be in a position to persuade trout that it is an enticing food and that they should eat it.
